Interesting article off the wires:

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Privately held Revenue Science will offer behaviorally targeted advertising services on Internet-browsing cell phones in Japan, entering a new field for sending commercials based on a consumer's Web habits.

They picked the right market. ;)
It's interesting that they think all the data will be applicable to the US market. I would think that several cultural factors might cause issues, but it seems they don't.

I thought the same thing. They must be thinking they will have so much data to work with it will help in North American campaigns. Behaviors are not the same though...

Browsing patterns, available phone technology, percentage of users using public transportation on a daily basis...things like that might skew their results a bit.

Revenue Science is a beached whale with no where to go. They were great when they were in their own platform. Ever since they switch over to that Right Media crap as their platform it has been down hill. Heck even Right Media's new owner, Yahoo passed on Revenue Science and picked up Blue Lithium. If that is not a kick in the pants, I do not know what is. Since they abandoned their own platform, for a cookie cutter platform they are really no longer an acquisition target. Can't really grow in an area with so many other fist in the see. Plus with other networks already offering the same services they really are going to have a heard time in the United States. Guess they think they have a better chance in Japan. But their data is all US. Do not know what that is going to do for Japanese sites. I guess we will see.
