Screen resolution in China and Hong Kong

Any users still using sub-1024x768 resolution?

About 10% of users who access my main UK-based site still have monitor resolution set below 1024x768 pixels. But I don't have detailed stats for my Chinese language site hosted in China.

This site currently has a layout suitable for viewing down to 800x600, but I would like to redesign with a wider page size more suitable for 1024x768 or above. Are there any users in China or Hong Kong with legacy equipment still browsing below 1024x768?

I am not sure about China and Hong Kong but my sites in Japan get less than 2% of visitors with sub 1024 resolutions.

Thanks jeffposaka,

I have taken the plunge and widened my page size.

But if anyone knows, I would still like to hear if there any users in China or Hong Kong still browsing below 1024x768.

I don't think people are still using 800*600 screens here. Keep in mind that everything that is used in the West is actually built here :-)

should be read as:

Keep in mind that everything that is used in the West is actually designed in the West and built in bulk here :-)

Keep in mind folks that a lot of trends in Asia are toward smaller portable devices. There are some pretty tiny screens capable of full Internet browsing. Don't discount the ultra-sub-mini-portables coming out. ;) I can see a lot of sites on my phone now that were previously unaccessible. (Think iPhone) It's not that I think that all sites should be designed for the portable, but consider that a lot of the smaller devices do seem to function better at the 800x600 scale.
