PPC In China...

Does it exist?

Hello there - as you'll see this is my first post although I have been a visitor for some time and found it very useful indeed!

My question is, I have read through this forum and there is loads of info on China - but I haven't seen anyone specifically answer if there are PPC engines in China...

Could anyone help?

I'm not a real China expert compared to many in this forum so I hope they'll jump in here. From my experience looking at places to submit my Chinese websites I believe that Baidu had one of the bigger PPC systems. This was over a year ago that I looked into this so there have probably been many changes since.

Hi.
Some Chinese companies also register their keyword on Google PPC, when input Chinese keyword in google search form, their websites will be displayed as sponsor listing in Chinese.
From unofficial information, there are 40% Chinese use Google Chinese Version to search what they want and other 58% use BAIDU.COM in China.

Thanks for the info hotice_2002. Are there any lists you know of that show how many sites use Google AdWords on Chinese sites? (That was what you were referring to as Google PPC, correct?)

I would also be interested to see a list of sites that use Baidu results if anyone knows of any.

Baidu PPC results show up on Sohu, Sina, Netease, Yahoo China, Tom.com etc. There are the top 5 portals in China. Like Google, Baidu.com also offers search service, and of course, there are PPC results.

hi, BILL. I don't know how many websites are using Google ADwords in China, Chinese ADwords hasn't officially launched by now.

You can visit the following url and see some Chinese Sponsor listings on Google, the search term in English should be "Website Promotion".

Thanks for the Baidu and AdWords information.

The Google stuff looks to be in Unicode. Is that difficult to use compared to something like GB2312? I haven't seen too many Japanese or Chinese sites in Unicode that I've liked. It seems my browsers always mess up on that encoding. Maybe that is because I am using an English OS most of the time when surfing.

If you click on the only ad words box on that serp from Chinese google - its a complete ripp off of 2advanced.com [2advanced.com].

In fact, Sohu.com(NASDAQ: SOHUŁ©also begin to deal in PPC. Certainly, Baidu is the best now.

But I know more and more chinese companies believe Overture and Google Adwords, because Overture and Google can bring many foreign purchasers who have $:)

Agree with YOUYOUY. For foreign compnaies' websites written in Chinese should choose Baidu.com as their primary Internet Marketing place. The second is Sina.com pay for position service, about 3500RMB, about $300 USD per year. BTW, the search result of SOHU powered by BAIDU.

Sina.com has its English version.

Does Baidu.com have any URL in English?

No, Baidu has no English Version by now(as I know). Baidu is specilized in Chinese Search Engine. I often use Baidu & Google, and compare their search results in Chinese. If Google gets a rate of 10, then baidu should be 9 - 9.5. Sometimes Baidu's search results is better than Google. It's why the most Chinese using Baidu to search what they want.
BTW, Baidu English search is no good(even very bad), I have never used it to find what I want in English.

Hello, webmasterworld! Could anyone tell China PPCs that have affiliate programs for clicks? It is rather difficult to navigate trough babelfished mixtures of words :-)
