I am just trying to work out if the traffic is back to normal or still recovering.

Some sources are up and others are down.

All this combined with Google doing an update and picking up more pages, makes it very hard to work out what is going on.

Our site is an Australian tourism site in Japanese.

I'm looking at a mixed bag on my end...some are up and others still way off. I'd venture a guess that the travel and tourism market would be a bit slow now. Japan had an extraordinarily long winter break this year with most companies giving their employees about 9 days off for the new year holiday. Airport departure figures were up over the previous year, so it seems a lot of people took advantage of the time off to go abroad.

Hey Bill,

Our visitor numbers seem to have recovered (and up a bit), but the projected page views for the month have almost doubled compared to Nov & Dec.

Do you think this is a bit of seasonal thing (peak travel time for Japanese) with the lead up to Golden week?

Yeah, I think you're seeing the wind-up of one traveling season and the start of another. Japanese do tend to plan a lot farther in advance for their travel. They don't seem to mind crowded conditions, but realize that these package do sell out early on. I think you'll see a lot of Golden Week and Obon travel planning now.
