Baidu dismisses dept for tiny contribution [shanghaidaily.com]
Employees in Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen were told on Monday afternoon that they were fired. "We had no idea that our jobs were even in question, and no one explained anything to us," said some of the fired workers still in astonishment.

The Enterprise Search Software Department, established six years ago, offered information solutions to medium and large-sized enterprises and government departments.

This signals that Baidu is going to concentrate on its public search. I wonder what happens to all of their corporate clients?

Two possibilites:
1. Baidu doesn't think there is much of a future in enterprise search

2. They are focused on short term profitability.

My guess is it is #2, baidu PPC sales folks have been getting more and more agressive by the day trying to drum up sales and although this is just a guess, the answer to your question about what happens to baidu's enterprise search customers, Nothing, cause they were very few if any.

Baidu was under storms of criticism from users and media in the second largest internet market in the world.
