Hi,

Just a quick question to find out if anyone knows what happened to Ask Jeeves Australia(www.askjeeves.com.au)? They now seem to not exist and all hits on the domain get redirected to Ask Jeeves.com.

Any thoughts on why this is so?

Thanks.

Are you sure www.ask.com.au is owned by Ask Jeeves Australia? It just seems like the domain belongs to a different company to me.

Yeah, I found that too.

Tha ask.com.au page is entitled Silverlake International, [silverlakeinternational.com.au...] , a Training company with the motto Attitude, Skills, Knowledge (ASK - good motto!). Curiouser and Curiouserer.

I will be out this morning but will call them this after noon.

G'day Woz and merlin78,

According to [aunic.net...] ask.com.au was first registered on 1 Jan 1993 to ASK Group and they are probably not related to Askjeeves Australia

askjeeves.com.au was first registered on 13 Feb 2001. However this does not explain why the Aussie site is being redirected to ask.com

The admin contact for Askjeeves Australia appears to be
David Campbell
Phone: (02) 8221 8858

I'm running late for a group of golfers arriving at Brisbane Airport and don't have the time to contact AskJeeves.

I just tried to ring Ask Jeeves and I was told that they vacated that office over 3 months ago so it looks as if they no longer exist in Australia.

Anyone else heard or seen anything?

I think they were taken over by [askted.com.au...]

HeHe!

Nice one Josk! What a great site!

I have had no luck tracking down the elusive AskJeeves.com.au either. It seems there is no connection to ASK.com.au, my mistake. Perhaps Jeeves HO will know.
