What do the Chinese search on

We have started gaining customers from China for industrial products and services - Why?

I don't remember ever submitting to Chinese directories or anything like that as the site that is pulling them is a English written .co.uk

I know that their are trade wars kicking off between China and Japan, and the parts are made in Japan, though the documentary i watched was denoting crops rather than electronics.

So basicall i am confused, as i see this as a great potential to target the search engines, that are providing these valuable and wanted customers.

Can anyone enlighten me ?

In April, Japan imposed temporary curbs on some Chinese farm imports, like leeks, rushes for tatami mats, and a few others. China disagreed and retaliated in June by levying punitive tariffs on imports of motor vehicles, mobile phones and air conditioners. This trade war has not extended itself to industrial products in general as far as I can see.

However, over the last few years I have seen a steady increase of interest by Chinese customers in industrial products from the (English) industrial websites I run. In general, sales offers from Chinese industrial companies are increasing along with their inquiries for foreign made industrial products. I don't think any one event triggered this interest, rather it is just a natural result of more Chinese business people getting online.

I taught a class on Internet Searching a few time whilst in China and was amazed that most average surfers in China know few SEDs beyond Yahoo and AV. Sometimes not even Google. So, as I understand, most average surfers in China would use engines like Sofu and the likes, rarely venturing into the English world.

The more serious "bilingual business surfer looking for products" on the other hand, not only knows the major global SEDs, but also the major product specific SEDs. People that I was dealing with were using [globalsources.com...] and the Asian section at [asia.globalsources.com...] , [kompass.com...] , and [thomasregister.com...] .
