I don't see that on the English CNNIC site. Is this just available to Chinese residents? I know that the prices for citizens/residents is sometimes different...particularly in China. ;)

I would be interested to know where I can purchase at these prices?
Can you provide a link or tell us where?
Is this only in China?
Thanks.

Dear Bill, Realapple: what i said is true. Big ISPs in China have already sold it in new price. I think it should be applicable for foreigners.

Are there any CNNIC announcements or newspaper articles about this price reduction that you could link to, even in Chinese? I don't doubt your information, but I wondered if there was something official we could refer to.

Bill: there are many new relating this topic. if you can read Chinese, please visit www.now.net.cn where the news originated. According their latest quotation, the annual fee for cn domain is 80 Yuan(they changed their idea :) They will give you a 70% discount(56 Yuan) if you pay the domain fee once a time for above 2 years!

You're correct redstorm. They are offering .cn names for quite a lot cheaper than I thought was possible. Is this just a registry gimmick or did CNNIC lower their rates to registrars?

Dear Moderator Bill: The only reason is that registrars reduced their offer to sub-registrars. There is no signal that shows this promotion activity has any connection with CCNIC.
