Mod Speling stopped working

Hello, I'm a noob so bear with me :)

We have a dedicated server running Apache 2.2.8 with Mod_Speling installed. We have a help directory in the root that contains an extensive help guide (generated by Robohelp) that our software links to. The help directory is several levels deep with everything capitalized... Example: [mysite.com...]

Previously Mod_Speling was working perfectly, but now that we are on Apache 2.2.8 it isn't working! I've had my web host looking at it, it's installed correctly, I have Checkspelling On in my .htaccess, everything looks fine.

Any ideas? I really need to make this work, our customers can't access the web help... Thanks!
