Hi

I am completely new to htaccess and this is my first attempt with what I have found on the site.

What I am trying to create is a file that blocks certain countries and redirects them to another site, stops hotlinking and the browsers and software that download your entire site.

If someone could have another look and see how ive done that would be great

That is a very good start.

You only need the first RewriteEngine On instruction, not the second.

You have catered for both JPEG and JPG with ¦jpe?g¦ so you don't need to specify it as ¦jpg¦jpeg¦ again.

I also 301 redirect index files to / (without the filename) for the root and for folders while forcing the www on them.

I also redirect all non-www URLs, ones that haven't already been covered by any of the other rules, to the www version of the URL.

This last rule won't work, because RewriteRule does not 'see' the domain part of the URL:

Try this instead:

RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} ^http://www.iaea.org
RewriteRule !^errors/403\.html$ - [F]

The URL-path should be the same as the one in your ErrorDocument 403 directive, and you should also use this rule for you user-agent blocking section. In both cases it allows the bad guys to fetch your custom 403 page; If you don't allow this, your server will go into a loop when a bad guy hits, because it will 403-Deny the 403 page itself -- recursively!
