Any thoughts?
Yes... lots of thoughts mulling around if that is the case generally. I think that there are a WHOLE load of questions that arise if Google's two tracking systems can't get the same figures (or close) and I don't especially like where those questions might lead.
So I think we really should ascertain whether it is the Google conversion tracking or the implementation that causes the discrepency. I guess the easiest way to do that is to ask if anyone is getting THE SAME data from the two tracking systems?
Anyone else got both systems installed? Any corellation between the results?
Google Adwords conversion tracker doesn't track "revenue", unless all your sales are worth the same amount of money - without exception. If that's the case, then I think you can configure adwords conversion counter to assign a value to each sale.
If this is the case, you have to ask yourself whether or not you included the taxes and shipping fees in your adwords conversion tracking.
Because Google Analytics revenue is the sum of sales amount, taxes, and shipping.
Further the Google Analytics e-commerce tracking module tracks revenue as it is passed through by your transaction software, and captured by their script.
