Interesting Meta Search Site.

Odd referer led me to this meta engine...

I was looking through my logs this morning and found a referer from what, at first looked like lycos.com (which is rare, for me). Looking close, I realized that there was no S in the name and I said to myself, "Self, that's weird, what is it?"

I checked it out and it says that it's iBoogie.tv (Guess they bought up some likely misspellings). Normally, I wouldn't comment on it as it's pretty underhanded, imho, to snatch variations on a competitor's name. The only reason I mention it is that the clustering is really COOL! They get results from Wisenut, Teoma, MSN, Fast, Yahoo! (maybe others...) and then in a sidebar, they cluster everything down via "sub keywords" or even "Sub keyphrases" that you can work through like a directory tree. Really friggin' cool!

Anyone seen anything like this? Or, has anyone heard of the engine? It's new to me...

Interesting engine. I like how they display the logos of the engines they got the results from.

Seems a bit like vivisimo.com, which is another meta engine with clustering technology.

Only problem I had with the one search I did was the speed...but perhaps if they get more usage, they'll cache the results and they will serve them faster? One can hope :)

Nice find.

Actually, it has been around for about at least year now, but looking at it now I can see that they have added more functionality, such as more engines (see their advanced page).

One thing that I like is that you can browse DMOZ in their cluster format (click on the 'web direcory' link).

Vivisimo's clustering is still better; iBoogie has oddities like categories with only one result.
