There's an interesting piece published in the FT this week titled "Search engine start-up try to take on Google"
As usual, these pieces always use Google as the target, and, of course, it's the biggest target.
In real terms, their combined market share is less that Google's reach in a day. That shows the challenge. However, some are growing, albeit very slowly.
A new batch of search engine start-ups positioning themselves as potential rivals to Google is hoping that growing regulatory pressure will finally reverse two decades of the search giant’s dominance.
Take a read though this if you can get it. The FT content is normally behind a paywall, so it may become unavailable in your region.
