I have a question: Are alternative search engines really worth it like adding your site to them would make difference?

Welcome to Webmasterworld!
In my experience any search traffic is good traffic IF IT IS VALID TRAFFIC.
I look at the search engine and make a personal decision.
The the pros outweigh the cons then I let them in. Six months to a year later I evaluate the traffic and decide if I will continue to allow that indexing.

All modern search engines typically find new sites/pages via links, so you don't really need to "add" your site.
Although Google is by far and away the most popular search engine in the English world, certain countries do have popular local engines. For example, seznam drives around 12% of search queries in the Czech Republic.
There are a number of meta search engines that are popular (as in single digit market shares in countries) such as DuckDuckGo and Ecosia. They are powered by Bing, so essentially you'd want to be indexed in Bing to stand a chance of being listed in them.

You may choose to not optimize your website for other search engines, but if you don't block their bots, they can still index your site and get you traffic, which is a nice extra free thing to have.
