In case you didn’t know, Google tracks you. Whenever you use the popular search engine, Google sends your browser and computer information to third party sites, which in turn can use the information to identify you.

Enter DuckDuckGo, “the search engine that doesn’t track you” and claims to be completely secure.

As reported in a non-computer related news site... one that has readers well concerned with privacy and security issues. DuckDuckGo appears here for the first time and might pick up some user interest.

They are one popular option, but not the only one. I like the advanced functionality of Ixquick as it offers a lot of tools I used to rely on Google for. It is my browser's default for about 3 years at least and uses https: (or http:) for searches. It lets me avoid the 'Big" search engines that all think I want to search in another language. I might be more interested in the DDG place if I wasn't quite happy with this one.

I am happy to see more than one taking advantage of people's concerns. I don't get targeted ads (unless I'm at Amazon or ebay of course.)
