To PFI or not to PFI...

Need objective infos and facts

I was just about to suscribe "Lycos InSite" but when I read the horror stories about FAST PFI in this forum I postponed the decision...

Basicaly, PFI is very interesting for most of us, because our time is much more expensive than PFI fees (except for those promotting sites on pinguin reproduction in Southern Argentina or stuff like that).

I simply canīt figure out that FAST isnīt able to give its customers a good feeling, the impression they get something for their money.

Or perhaps there are members of this forum who can share positive experience with FAST PFI? It would be nice to gather constructive material about this in one thread, because I think that many people are very upset about it.

I usually do not post much in the Fast forum, not becuase I do not like it, but because I dont understand their algo too good :)

and Lycos who? if you are going to submit to them, I say try Positiontech, at least that works.

I have had some very good results in a short time with Fast via Positiontech, unfortunately as our target audience is in the UK, Google wipes the floor with them over here.

I am sure fellow members will have some very positive comments about Fast, and I definately think they are a force to be reckoned with in 2003.

FrenchGuy, we have a lot of members here that has had great succes with FAST pfi - myself included - and their customer support has really been outstanding lately. Look at some the recent posts..

I'd say give it a go with a few pages and see where it heads. Tweak them to see what you can accomplish and decide if you wanna throw more money at them.

I'm not really sure how their reach in the UK is right now, and looking a Shak's response it seems that Lycos is not producing much these days. However, with all the things going on with engines buying each other now, it could be wise to get a little experience with the FAST algo though ;)

I completely agree with Rumbas. We have used PFI with Fast for quite some time now and with very good results. Our ROI is very good so far and their (Lycos) customer service has been outstanding up till now. So, you shold try them out for a while and see how it works out for you. ;)

Thank all of you for your answers. I will try it now. Itīs difficult to choose between Position-Tech and Lycos. Any pro and contra?

Position-Tech is $1 cheaper to submit your 1st URL but a $1 more for each additional URL! As far as I can tell everything else is the same.

Lycos has had many problems, me among them. I suggest you don't use them. I haven't seen any complaints about Position Tech. No brainer choice.

Result of the action: I have used Positiontech. It took a little more time than the promised 72 hours but the result is OK. All pages I paid for were included. A big advantage for those runing several domains: your have control over the domain that is beeing spidered and can thus use the one with the best Link-pop... this was a problem for me until now...
