How do you highlight pictures which are links?

A blue box, label 'click here', what are the options?

We all know that text links should be blue and underlined, and that button links should be 3D or raised.

But how do you tell a visitor your cool picture is actually a link?

A blue box ruins the look of your site. Lots of 'click here's' look naff.

What do you do to highlight your pictures as links?

If you choose not to use the blue outline, then either your page design must make it obvious, or you must tell the reader - with a 'naff' phrase.

A better alternative would be to have a clickable picture caption, thus removing any confusion, and assisting in SEO.

Don't forget the appropriate ALT text, too.
