Hello. Facebook, Instagram and now, other sleazy sites use a trick that stops users from using the back button, or in some cases feed them another page. Is there a way to defeat what appears to be beyond a JavaScript on on the server side? It is very annoying and breaking users' freedom to leave your site at any time.

Why would you want to disable the script, when the most powerful thing you can do is leave the site? For that you don’t need a button; simply close the window.

Can't you use your History button to go back to where you'd like to be? I mean, in cases where you're logged in and wish to log out before leaving. Otherwise, sure, close the browser and note the sleazy slugs who use such scripts.

i always make sure to open sites that behave like this in their own tab, to minimize the history pollution.

I agree with shutting the tab but often when searching, I don't think about the crummy sites, nor do I know that I'll land on one. Usually, I do use a new tab, but it's not always the case.

Hello,

If you right click on the back button, you have the history of previously browsed pages, you can select the one you want to return to.
