Hi, could you please help, what software do CEO or project managers use for planning, note-taking, overseeing etc?

Welcome to WebmasterWorld AntonSatek!

The answer is simple. Real CEOs use a secretary, not software.

Personally I have used Notepad++ for several years - price is right and its very configurable.

The first question to ask is whether this is for sole or group/team use.

The second is to list all specific requirements then go research for best matches.

Many use a variety of software as few if any single solution do everything well. I say this as while the thread title says ‘professional text editor’ the opening post says ‘planning, note taking, overseeing, etc.’, which far goes well beyond text editor software.

The choice is complex and personal. Some can manage with a simple text editor, others need quite a lengthy tool chain. Requirements vary.

There are paid and free, open source and proprietary, desktop and cloud/web solutions in pretty much every category.

Sorry not to be more specific but there really is no one size fits all.

I apologize for any confusion due to the title. My bad. This post was originally posted in an unrelated thread in the Facebook forum and was moved to its own thread here lacking a title - so that's my fault.

Heh! As if none of us have done the same at some point or another!
