Do any of you WebTrends users know why googlebot would show up as a "Browser" as opposed to a "Spider" in my reports?
Thanks, JK321

I just (about two days ago) had a conversation with WebTrends about Spider IDs. Whereas with with SE referrers, WebTrends allows you to modify "keywords.ini" to add new SE referrers, the code for spiders is hardcoded in their software. The only way for Googlebot (and who knows what other spiders) to show up as a spidey is to wait for them to update the code in a release. Of course, we could all e-mail them and request a "spider.ini" file that will allows the user to add spiders :)

There was someone talking about passing around an updated ini for WebTrends. Did that ever get started?

No Brett. I believe it was one of our Scandanavian friends but they were looking for an OK from you. Right now, I can't the original post. I keep trying.
