I while ago, I saw a post here about an application that can track hours you spend on different projects so you can then bill separate clients knowing how much time you have spent on each separate job.

I tried searching for the thread but could not find it.
Does anybody happen to have a link to that thread or to that software package?

Thanks.

Try this search [google.com] :)

bcc1234 - not sure which post you were referring to, but I can say that after looking at and testing several timesheets, orologic seems to have one of the best that I've found for handling small companies. I loaded it up with about 60 specialty services (html, cgi, graphics, etc), all at different prices for different levels for 20 people.

Then added my clients, their projects, then as everybody details their times within the categories - you hit a couple buttons and can generate reports by project, dates, type of work, and/or person doing the work.

Like most of them, it's not perfect, but I'm making notes for things I hope that can make enhancements on.

Hmm, that looks a bit bulky.
I was actually thinking of an app that runs in the backround and has a stopwatch. ALLNetic Working Timee Tracker seems really nice, but does not do export.

OroTimesheet would not run nicely in the background and seems like it's more appropriate for time accounting, not tracking.

Any other ideas? I'm getting tired of using exell/access combo to keep track of my time :)

You might try TimeSlice. It exports into a tab delimited file.

Yeah, I tried that one.
Not what I needed.
They all seem to be either too complex or lacking some features.

Still using excel and access :)

I use TraxTime... It allows you to set up projects, punch in and out times... to add memos for each interval... and to create reports. It doesn't have subcategories within projects, though, for tracking different types of services, but you can set up separate projects for main categories.

I know what you mean. I'd like something a little more elaborate than TraxTime, but not nearly as elaborate as orologic.
