Percentages back to company

I work as an independent contractor for a company. When design jobs come through, that the company finds, what type of percentages should be taken from my cheque to go back to the company? I understand this will vary, but what is an average or ballpark?

15%, 25%, no more than 20%?

Any advice is appreciated.

i'm a uk contractor who gets work through agencies. i invoice them for my fees and they invoice the client my fees + 10%.

As incywincy indicated... you charge what you charge, and your clients adjusts for their clients so they can make a return.

If your client however, is defining what their clients are being charged and defining the scope of work as well, and all that work is provided my you.. same thing.

A finders fee isn't normally a very high precentage, and definitely not higher than the fee for work.
