I'm now in the way of developing a graphics software package. I'm from Argentina but the software will be sold mainly in USA.
That means that I have "move" the production phase (cd duplication, packaging and distribution) to United States.
I really don't know where to start. I'm currently using ShareIt services and the can distribute the software for me. But I don't know which company can do the full production of this package. I don't mean a cd on demand duplication but a professional CD duplication and packaging.
Also there are other issues like trademarks and other legal stuff.
Is there any source for getting this kind of information, like an software publishers association or similar?
Thanks in advance
Enrique
The best place to answer all your questions would be a search engine - look up CD duplicators, ask them about packaging options.
Find a copyright attorney and talk with him/her about your project. I can recommend a fabulous one if you want. He does all my IP work.
It's a huge project you are undertaking. I'm not so sure I would worry about packaging and distribution any more. If you can sell it over the internet, why bother with the expense?
I've bought some great software packages over the web. The price is usually right since there is no overhead of printing and disk duplication.
I took my software one step further and actually made it web based! So the only thing a user has to do is log in. (Thin client - everything is stored on my servers.) I get to work in my fluffy slippers and bathrobe.
