Getting a Reseller's account

Which hosts have the best reseller deals?

Hi,
I have four related ecommerce sites and it dawned on me that getting a reseller's account and then running all four domain names as separate accounts on my reseller's acccount would be the cheapest and easiest way to handle the host issue. I have two questions related to this idea:

1. Is there any problem doing this that I haven't thought of? Actually I can't see any problems associated with it so let me know if I'm missing something.

2. Which Hosting company do you recommend? I'm seriously looking at Web Extreme. [snip] Does anyone know anything about them?

Thanks,
Rhetor

I don't think posting the URL of hosting companies is allowed here. I sent you a sticky mail with my recommendations.

Concerning the URL you posted, I've certainly seen better deals.

Rhetor,

As always there are two sides to any argument. With only 4 domains involved and provided that they are totally independant (i.e. they don't share files or databases) there is an argument for using 4 totally different hosts for the 4 sites. There is some doubt as to the value of linking sites that are all hosted on the same server, whereas links between sites located on different servers should carry the full quota of link popularity for the search engines.

Apart from the above, your argument is sound. The more sites that you run, the sounder the argument for using a reseller account (or even several reseller accounts );)

There are some reseller accounts that have unique IPs for sites. It takes some shopping around.

I completely had it with reseller accounts and I've tried a few (UK hosting companies).

When I dug a little deeper I was suprised at some co-lo/ dedicated server deals that you can get - esp. from the smaller isps with a mini-datacenter. You ususally get much better response times also because a small datacenter well placed will have less hops to the backbone than one of these huge companies with thousands of servers (and routers).

The service is INFINITELY better also.

Hi,

Check out what I said about choosing a reseller (or host for that matter) in my post in this thread:

Hope it helps,
