FTP and dashboard share password

The person who is going to start managing my SEM account asked me for the ftp to change something in the design that I had asked him for.

The problem is that on my hosting the ftp and the emails are together. So if he is indiscreet he can read my emails.

I could solve it by putting a password to access the email... but it seems "unpleasant" to do so. Also, assuming I put a password, he can still see the number of emails I receive per day, and he could draw conclusions ("my work is going too well, I will raise the price for my client").

Yes, I can change the FTP password...but it always forces me to make it the same as the one on the dashboard...and by accessing the dashboard you can see the emails...so it is the same as not change anything.

Is there any way for him to be able to access the ftp alone? Or does that depend on each hosting?

You should be able to create a new FTP account and limit their access to specific folder/s for that FTP account. You do not need to share your primary FTP account. I would also create a backup of those folders in case any changes go sideways.

Second above. Will also have the benefit of being able to track that FTP account in the site logs.
