Just out of interest, what channels do you find best for getting new clients? do you go out and ask for them, get recommeded, advertise?

would be interesting to hear...

p.s - Almost all of mine have been through personal contacts - it seems many people wanta website, but dont know where to get one so forget about it, until a friend says they have just the person!

Yes, it always seems to come back to networking. Put on a short presentation at your local Chamber of Commerce, get involved, etc...

Current customers will begin to refer new customers. It will snowball.

referrals and networking. Treat people right and provide a solid product and you'd be amazed to find out how many friends they have that need work done. :)

lol - i wasnt asking so that i could find out how to get business, i was simply interested in how you guys do, strangly enough i almost have too many jobs on, and become stressed as i get about three all at once, then quiet for two weeks, then hell again - but ive now decided to use that "off" time starting up useful projects of my own, or studying a new area, newlanguage, something like that

Im just forming a company of our own with my brother, whos a truly amazing software programmer - so im looking forward to the future!
