Hello, dear webmasters.
Could you tell me please how is going with compilation, GIF, pics content on your websites / subreddits / gif sites, etc.? And it's can be adult content especially!
I wonder if users like to watch it on your websites and how many people are trying to find the full (original) video from compilations, pics, GIF etc...?

I mean websites that contain excerpts (cuts) from videos. And when users watching it, they ask "Where does this fragment come from?" "Where can I find the full video?"
Is it problem for users, or maybe for you, to find full video?

Thanks for feedback. Best regards.

I think in many cases there will be a copyright issue involved here. Taking a small section of someone else's video and uploading it would usually be copyright theft. There are exceptions where this might fall under fair use (only a court can determine on a case-by-case basis what is considered fair use). There is also the possibility the video was released under a licence that permits re-use such as creative commons.

As for users being able to locate the original video... If the title used is similar this might be enough for a user to search for related videos and perhaps let them find the original.

Mack.

Hey Mack. Thanks for the reply!

Yes you are right. This will definitely be related to a copyright issue.
But today there are a lot of video compilations, gif animations, etc., which are uploaded and viewed on the Internet in huge quantities (I parsed statistics from some websites).

I've come to the point that A LOT of people want to know "what is name of full video on 30's second and who is the actress?" etc...
In my opinion, this has grown into a search problem for users, which I would like to discuss with webmasters and, possibly, offer a solution to this problem.

I'm looking for webmasters who have websites with adult compilation content, gif animations and similar content.
It would be interesting to see what they think about the user's problem in finding the original (full) video.

Certainly, there are ways that users can use (for example, as you said - Google image search and similar options).

I don't understand why this is even a question for webmasters, unless you're talking about second-order copyright infringement where one site put together a compilation and then another site swiped it without attribution. If it is your own original compilation, then obviously it is in your power to include links to the sources.

Lots of sites (like adult tubes) copy content wherever they can. Of course, this is a copyright issue.

But I would like to take care of ordinary users of these sites who are watching, for example, compilation videos. Viewers have questions about the full video (not to clarify copyright, but to find out the video name/actress and watch all the videos with her or the video, an excerpt of which is contained in this compilation).

For example: you can search for "compilation" on famous adult tubes, open these videos and go down to comments. Basically, there you'll see only the questions like: "what kind of actress?" or "what is name of full video?"

This is the problem that I'm writing about and that I would like to help solve for users.
That's why I'm asking webmasters who have content on website that can be asked question "Where is the original video?" or "send the link to the full video".

First, I don't infringe copyrights. Second, if you worry that your users can't find the original you snipped, then go ahead and insert the link to where you got it. Makes it easier for the lawyers to find you.

As for the users, they know they are getting something for nothing and most of them, even those who might want more of a specific, aren't about to put up their hand and ask questions.

This whole thread is a non-starter for a tech-based issue. (Providing Source)

A LOT of people want to know

I don't have any experience with adult content, but you see this on other sites too. When users are uploading the content, identifying the original source, and everyone in any clip, is not your problem.

Ask Facebook, Google et all how that works.
