There is a software which captures the list of email contacts and uses it to send spam from their servers, unbeknownst to the email list owner. I don´t know if that piracy software has a name (?) but there must be some way to stop this. Spam is a universal problem, and on webmasterworld should be a forum to discuss policies to stop it.
I created a name for spam which love to tell the ICANN authorities when dealing with the spam issue= "SPAM is the robber of those minutes you spent which you could otherwise use when you are about to die"
For instance, inaugurate a new domain. Send an innocent email message to an equally innocent email address. Then, suddenly, "out of nowhere" you start receiving spam. Where is is coming from? I presume what happens is that the email list of the recipient is infected with some kind of trojan which kidnaps the list of the recipient and then sends it back (stealth-mode) to the spammer, who uses those lists to add to their spamming activity. There must be a name to that trojan and there should be some way to develop a defense that remedies such spam. Surprisingly, as far as I a´m aware of it, it is quite common and no one talks about it.
Not even the best antivirus can defend against it ? I´ll send a copy of this to BitDefender and post their response.
All comments and advice will be appreciated...
