Where do you guys recruit?

I'm helping a friend out with recruitment for an SEO position. The deal is that he sources the candidates and I interview them but we're getting absolutely no quality applications.

So my question is where do you find the best candidates for senior positions come from?

We're based in the UK but recommendations from around the world are welcome as I'm sure I can learn something from them.

What criteria do you use to define "quality applications"?

At the risk of being nepotistic, there's a high density of SEO professionals at PubCon... and I see plenty of employment shouts on Twitter. if the right influencers re-tweet those, the message penetrates deep into the industry...

other than that, the usual job posting forums are a good bet (eg. LinkedIn)
