I'm looking for a relatively cheap webhosting service in Mexico to host my sites in Spanish.
Preferably it should be a webhosting company with a presence in the United States too.
Looking forward to any suggestions.

Why do you need to host them in Mexico? Any hosting company can host spanish sites. I wouldn't feel comfortable hosting anything in Mexico. Plans are cheap enough in the USA or CANADA.

I'm curious why you feel that way.
Anders, is there an economic/political/legal reason why you want your spanish sites to be hosted in Mexico?

political problems, murders, is the next attack against the building where your website is hosted? How do you know the validity of their backup system? What standards do they abide by? etc...
You can host at godaddy for $7 a month and there are plenty of other hosting companies. I'd rather keep my business in the U.S.A.
There is no savings by hosting in Mexico. If any, we're talking about pennies. It wouldn't even be an option for me to move my hosting from the U.S.A. to Mexico.

Feel free to name a single instance in which a Mexican hosting company went dark because of political problems, murder, or a stray cartel RPG taking out a building full of servers.
About as silly as saying "Don't use Bay Area hosting companies, because of potentially dangerous activity in Oakland."

I'd prefer any random mexican host to godaddy any time.

DXL you only answered part of my question, you neglected -->
******************************** How do you know the validity of their backup system? What standards do they abide by? etc... ********************************
In the end the decision is yours totally. Do whatever you want. GoDaddy was just an example, yet not the best. However, like I mentioned I see NO SAVINGS in money and I WOULD NOT host in any country besides the USA OR CANADA. Best of luck.

That is not a likely consideration. WHERE a site is hosted is a factor in how well it ranks in the ccTLD version of Google. Anytime someone asks about non-US web hosting, the ranking factor is going to be a top reason why they're asking.

And latency is just as valid a reason.

Who knows that the consideration is. The person that started this thread hasn't responded to our responses and they said they wanted "cheap webhosting".
