Welcome to WMW creative craig,

A lot of hosts offer discounts for not for profit organizations. I really don't know about domain names. I am sure someone out their has a discount. Its pretty tough to discount 8-9 dollars though.

I know that you can get cheap names £10 or so
just that the charity hasnt got any money at
the moment, they are waiting for the grants to
come through.

So they want a free name and hosting.

I know of a couple of places where religious affiliated sites can get free hosting. Don't know of any that give free domain names though. Sticky me if you want the info.

we thought about this and chose instead to pay for hosting and domain names through a normal business deal and get full sponsorship for the website...that has worked admirably

sometimes it is very useful to be dealing in a purely businesslike fashion with hosting and domain registrars etc rather than as somebody asking for a favour...the amounts involved are so small compared to the other costs of a site
