tax for retail outside the country

My question is, for a retail store which sells some products (not talking about required licenses here, let's say that's ok) to a customer outside Canada/US (for example, france or Armenia), do the customer need to pay any tax? or in other words, does the company need to calculate any sales tax for them? Thanks very much

US/Canada doesn't really matter to me a lot, but would prefer information about Canada at this moment.

Hi mortezahaydari,

You should consult a business lawyer to answer these questions. There are also lots of resources on the www. If you're going into a retail business, it behooves you to do diligent research to learn about all the applicable tax laws.

You may also wish to consider raising these questions with your accountant ... they probably deal with the practical aspects of taxation daily.
