There's an interesting interview on the NY Times which I thought worth drawing to your attention. Tony Hseih, Zappos CEO, was one of the PubCon Keynoters, and he imparted some interesting information at the show in Las Vegas last year. Here, in this interview, he goes into this and some other aspects which make this worth a read.

Yes it is engine I sent the link to our CEO and all department heads to read.
Kind of weird I am the office clown/prankster/breaking the boredom person in our office, and when I took 8 days off for Christmas last year I had a bunch of office personal come by and tell me they missed me and glad I was back.

This read really got me to thinking we need more of our office to step up and contribute to breaking up the crossed eyed
syndrome around here.

I am adding to the post as this is really on my mind so I went to our CEO and suggested he read and think outside the box.

We have a group of sales callers that all day they cold call. Our CEO wants more time on the phone calling from these employees.
After the read I asked him this question..."Put yourself in their place would you jump outta bed to come into work or hit the snooze if you were doing their job."

I told him I would hit the snooze so now how do we get it reversed were they enjoy coming into doing their work.

Enjoyment brings productivity....There is some serious food for thought in that article serious food...
