Getting back into the game

I've out to the offline business for almost 4 years, but crisis hit us pretty hard us here in eastern europe(I moved here 5 years ago. So I'm thinking about getting back to SEO.
I was hopping if you guys could help me understand last trends, what major changes happened which I should studdy.

That's a tall order. I'd dig into the last few months of the forums in the areas that interest you and start reading. Set yourself a limit of how far you want to go back otherwise the amount of info could be overwhelming.

I second Bill... things that worked two years ago do not these days and changes in the last six months have not been fully determined, and changes in the last month have yet to be digested. But six months back to today would be a large catalog of info.
