Hi,

I live in India and this post is directed towards Indian webmasters, especially those focussed on PPC.

I am doing Internet Markeing and running it as a sole proprietary concern.

From the last three months, I've been spending quite a bit on PPC (~$2,500/month) using my Standard Chartered Gold Credit Card.

I'd like to find out which is the best cash back (or travel rewards) credit card in India.

I've tried to research many Indian credit cards but ended up getting totally confused with all the fine print.

If you are living in India and spending more than say $2,000/month on PPC, I'd love to know what credit card you are using.

Ideally I'm looking for an Indian PPC marketers dream credit card which has a high limit (say Rs. 2 lakhs or more) and has an excellent cash back or travel rewards program.

Also is there any yearly limit on how much US Dollars, I can spend to purchase advertising? I vaguely remember there was some sort of limit of how much a resident Indian can spend in dollars but not sure if it's still valid.

Thanks,

I think.. Citibank Platinum cards and higher are best. As they allow you to use your reward points as Cash against any purchase.

With the deluge of USD flowing into the economy, the RBI is more than happy for you to spend as many USD as you can...

Thanks for the welcome GG.

After making this post I was feeling quite a bit uneasy and felt I really should consult an expert.

So, this morning I spoke to my dads Chartered Accountant and he confirmed the following:

* There is no limit on using my international credit card to purchase advertising or anything else in USD. (used to be a limit but removed a while back)

* Don't need an Export/Import code number from DGFT if all you are doing is affiliate marketing and adsense. (i.e. revenue sharing as opposed to selling products or services)

Since I'm running under a propreitary concern, I also have to pay

* Service tax is being implemented quite strictly so most likely I'll be liable for service tax. (but he said we'll see as rules are a bit gray in this area for this type of business) :-)

* Will have to pay professional tax of Rs. 2,500/year.

* Still searching for which cards have the most cashback. Seems like there is too much fine print.

Hope this was useful to other Indian webmasters.

If anyone has anything else to share I'm all ears.

Of course for affiliate commissions, you are liable to service tax.. The only grey area is adSense.

Thanks for the rest of the information.
