Links that just don't make sense

I was checking some website stats for an obscure site/blog that I have and I noticed a trickle of traffic from another site so I decided to look at it. When I got to the site it was just an average mom-and-pop type of site, not a casino or pharmacy or anything like that, and down towards the bottom of the front page was a link to my blog. No description, just the address with a small border around it and a direct link. Seems kind of out of place, the link doesn't match the rest of their site, the content of the sites are related at all, and I've never heard anything from them about linking or link exchange or anything.

Has anyone else ever come across strange links like this and if so what have you done, did you ask them to take it down?

I guess I'll have to look into little more find out if it's actually helping my site or not before I decide what to do, just thought I'd see if anybody else had come across this.

Have you hired any SEOs that cold called you? Other than that-people can link to whomever they want-maybe they loved your site!

akmac,

no seos, you could be right maybe they just loved the site.
I guess I am more concerned for them than anything because the link just did not seem to fit on their site, and I'm talking esthetically and content wise. The few links(3) that they did have were to other very topic specific sites and they matched the visual theme of the site. And then in a completely different format is a link to my site.

Yes, Yes I know I should just email them and ask, but i also don't want to look a gift link in the mouth.
