I can't really complain - business is growing.

I was wondering if anyone had any experience with having their office # forward to an answering service in the off hours to take messages. Nothing fancy, no order taking, just simple message retrieval and delivery. What's a base price for this sort of thing?

I'm not sure if recommendations are allowed in here, so if not please sticky me if anyone has any good experiences to share.

Thanks!

oziman:

You may want to look around your own back yard for such a service. In many mid-size and larger cities you can find services like this. In my area there is a company located in a nice development park that has an office building with offices, conference rooms, answering services, mail drop, etc. For different fees you can put together an ala cart type service with them.

Some people (like me) just want the occasional call answering, which I use when I am really busy and don't want to take calls, but don't want them going straight to voice mail either. For the fee they also provide the use of the conference room so many times per month and the mail drop if I want it. My biggest reason for using them is appearance. I am going after larger clients that are more comfortable (at least at first) with larger firms. I use this to help create that appearance. Once I have the business and have done a good job for them this is typically no longer an issue.
