That's right. I'm just a web developer who can make about any sort of content driven site. but what i lack is the knowledge to turn those skills into a business/living.

Hi, i'm a professional developer working full time and looking to capitalize on this huge internet by building something positive for people to use and hopefully turning to a earning source and working for myself 9 to 5. I've the technical skills but i don't have the great knowledge of marketing. I don't know how many of you great folks here are web developers who can whip out just about any complex web app. But i do know that for a person like me, there is some potential to make something out here.

I've made a social networking system, which i like to see people using it. But there is a problem. I don't how to reach out to those people.

What advice do have for me?

Webdev:

Do you know there are designers that can't program and programmers that can't design? Find a partner, if you can develop but can't market you need a marketing person. A marketing person that can't develop, but has a great idea needs someone like you. It is how business is done everyday.

as a coder alone you can make good cash too then in time you can find out more how to make money through other ways while you getting experience in the field

In my opinion marketing the site is thousands times more important than creating a site. After all your wizardry site if doesn't gets search engine exposure and visitor's appeal then What is the use?

I suggest you to tie up with somebody with good SEO and marketing skill, because it's very difficult to keep up a website alone. The option are you can learn those skills but that requires too much of time, patience and the road is full of failures.

I don't think this takes advanced marketing skills.
