I'm going to be offering a maintenance plan of 5 hours/month to my clients. I was wondering if there is any method/software that can keep track of how many hours you work for each of your clients. I'd use this for administrative purposes and also, if possible, to show clients that I have actually worked that number of hours (though I don't think they will trust anything, am I wrong?) How do you guys handle this? I'm curious...

Welcome aboard newtas100! There's tons of software out there, but about 6 years ago I wrote a small program to do this. It manages all my customer data, projects, and has a small desktop footprint. Start timer, enter description, when done, post session and it automatically tracks all data. When the project is complete, enter a date for project closed, and generate a report.

The only unfinished business is the printing and formatting, the report saves to a plain text file which I drop into my company letterhead. If you are interested and want to test it out I'm available by sticky mail, it runs on Windows 98 through XP.
