If you are talking about working in-house, assuming you have created a CV, make sure it includes examples of your work.
Make contact with the marketing department to establish their interest in utilising your skills. Morte than likely, the larger companies or web design houses will be interested.
A lot of companies don't know about the search engines and directories and that may be valuable knowledge they will be happy to bring in-house.
You could easily test the water from a full time, part time and freelance perspectives to prospective clients and employers.
Just a case of writing all the necessaries to present yourself in whatever way you feel appropriate,
I have worked for firms in the past freelanced for the last twelve months and am now looking to get back in with a firm due wanting more stability, the slow turnaround of work and the current economic climate.
