Hello everyone.

I am new to this forum but I think I will become a regular here. Our site has launched for about one year now. We have been focusing most of our attention to traffic. I think we are gaining ground on the traffic side right now, so we want to start looking at how we would like to monetize the site.

We have looked at adsense as a possible means. But we really want to stay away from dealing with 3rd party ppc companies and try to have the sales in house. Meaning we would be doing the selling of our ads ourselves. Does anyone have any experience in doing this? Also, is this a good way to monetize our site?

Our traffic target expectancy for 2007 is around 5,000-10,000 hits per day.

Any help that you can provide would be most appreciated.

Warm Regards,

5,000-10,000 hits per day

Is that hits or unique visitors?
Page impressions would also be a more important metric than hits.
Hits are fairly meaningless as they include downloads of all images that are on a page, etc.

Adsense has done really well by us although I have considered trying an in-house solution.

We have advertisers using Adsense to advertise directly on our site, we do really well with these advertisers as they are paying top dollar for site-wide placement.
