Now E-commerce is very profit business. But there is now really stable web software corporations. And, as a result we have only few stable brands, that can create high-quality software and provide reliable support for their customer. Why the situation is so tragic?

I want to get really qualitative soft to make my business. But I'm afraid that I need a lot of programmers to support and extend its functionality. Are there any companies, that provides qualitative and easy extensible software? Or all money will be lost in developers' pockets without profit for me?

Are you sure? Evryone is winning the game?

I don't think there is any kind of tragedy. If you try to buy a house or a monitor, there is big and small corporations with high or low quality products and reliable or poor support as you can find in other industries.

I think you have a wrong approach to online business and you should to do a deeper research. Stay here and read a few hundred posts for a week or two and then, just then, make some more specific questions.

Thanks for so detailed answer. I read some topics about the problem and now I have a question.

What is more preferable for web software customers:

1 - quality, good design and extensibility?
2 - speed of the development?

I have some programming skills and know that bad designed software is hard to extend. But from topics I understood that speed of the development is more preferred, because code of the project is hidden and e-businessmen often neglect the quality.

I don't think you really understand development. The quality of the people you hire is all you. You need a sound model to develop software (a plan at least), it doesnt sound like you have one.

Everyone will have different priorities.

There is an old saying when it comes to development: "You can have it fast; you can have it cheap; you can have it done well. Pick any 2." (With some companies, they only let you pick 1...) Some people want fast & cheap, others prefer fast and good. Still others want cheap and good. So the issue is what are YOUR perferences? You'll need to specify those preferences ahead of time and find programmers that are willing to work with you on it.
