What should I be charging for refreshment, updates etc.

Hi, We are just starting out and I would like some info on what I should charge on the following:

Refreshing a sites content and to enhance the performance of the website in the SERP's. What should we charge hourly?

Should we still charge for submission of main domain to search engines, web directories and internet indexes when content has been addded or modified? I have heard that submitting is really no longer necessary because when you make a change google will usally find it anyway.

Personal opinion only! Absolutely forget about paying for increasing your position in search engines. They all frequently refresh automatically and there is no need to pay anything. Six years with the same site allows me to give this advice.
