I've been asked to submit a proposal for regular updating (such as posting articles/photos) for a website that has already been designed. I'm thinking of proposing a monthly retainer for a certain number of hours, plus a per hour charge for things like creating flash animations, or other creative. I'm new to this. What else should I include? I'm thinking 350/mo for 15 hours/mo plus 25/hr for extras. Any help would be appreciated. The client is a midwest nonprofit org.

sounds reasonable ... but in the contract or in the addendum be very specific about what services are included in your monthly service fees. also be specific about the format in which the client delivers files, i.e. .. .txt, original .jpg, etc. saves a lot of headaches. i also put a minimum on some sservices such as photographic services ... $XX per hour (minimum charge 3 hours) ... and also include transportation charges where necessary.

Make it clear whether you're on call for emergencies - and if you're not, who is (i.e. the hosting company).
