Niche company looking for pro marketing help

is there a company out there which can help?

We're a company in the niche end of online education and we need to expand. Basically we're looking at employing an online Marketing company to help spread the word in those niche areas of education where we apply.

Is it worth it? Can anyone recommend a marketing/advertising company which might help or is this idea that a professional online marketing company can help just fluff?

I've looked round plenty of sites and they tend to be "make a million bucks in a day" sort of rubbish. What we're looking for is a company which can take our product, promote it in the right area and increase our market share - all online.

I'd love to hear comments or suggestions from anyone who's done this, even if it's just a matter of not trusting any of them and doing it ourself!

My guess is that you'd be happier learning to do it yourself. It's not that hard and you know your market sector better than anyone. Hiring someone else means you'll be paying them to learn your sector.

Any marketing type can develop a keyword list and develop ads and I'm sure it would help improve your bottom line but the more familiar the person is with your market sector, the better able they will be to design campaigns that will reach your target audience.

You could just as easily hire the wrong group and watch your site's position in the indices rise and and then fall out of existence if not receive an outright ban.

If you're going to hire someone, do it right and be willing to pay good money for their services. It isn't fluff, it does work, but it does require someone with experience and patience.

But I encourage you to learn it yourself. In the end, you'll be much happier if you do.
