Three year ago, our agency hired a web designer, who unknow to us, used images from an image library without paying for them.
We only just found out when our client was billed $7,000 for 4 small photos on the web.
As soon as we found out we immeadiately removed them.
The problem is that the image library is using hard ball collection tactics on my client - who had no idea of this wrong as we did not!
Has anyone else had this problem? How did you solve it?
Any suggestions are welcome.
Thank you,

Additionally, they should have asked to see the email receipts of the image/photo purchases.
They should be able to get out of this one by only paying the $7000. If they fight the image library in court, they may end up paying more.
