So, if you were to break it down, what percentage of your time goes to learning? If I were to make a guess, I would put it at 30%
If you are in the business of making a website educating people, like www.searchengineworld.com, then you are learning while you work, and learning how to work
I run a biology site, so I learn about biology. At the same time, I go to college doing a degree in "information technology", and while im making other sites, im learning how to make them!
If I were to talk solely about learning the sort of things i read on here - 50%
Mortgage? Check. Groceries? Check. Internet Service? Check. Learning full XHTML/CSS layout & compliance? Working on it... ;)
I spend a 1/3rd of the day reading news and "manuals" of some sort. I'm just glad I'm an info junkie. It sure helps to stay abreast of things (eg: see this site [webamsterworld.com] for the living embodiement of that philosophy). It's hard to break it down since I find it so enjoyable. I know I watch very little TV news any more.
