Accepting paypal payment

I have just received a question from a potential client. They have asked me if I accept PAYPAL as a form of payment. What do they mean? I know how Ibill works, how I can have a buy it now button, and the shopping cart and credit card transaction is processed on their secured server for a % fee. Is this what his question is, or is the ACCEPTING PAYPAL PAYMENT something else?

I don't mind it, if I receive 100% and he pays the % fee.

You pay a small percentage, which is deducted from the amount paid to you when you tranfer the funds to your bank account or have them mailed. Mailing costs $1.50 more, transfer to an account is much better and quicker too.

Do it, it works great and all the instructions are right at their site. It's worth the small amount they charge.

PayPal is great. I use it without hesitation. My hosting clients pay me through PayPal, all ebay sales are through PayPal, and I've even had a web design client pay me through PayPal.

The fee is so much less than IBill or even regular card processors.

They are going public very soon as well.

paypal can be an easy and affordable way to accept credit cards. it's great for accepting payment from those that already have a paypal account, are web savvy, or those that are not shy about a new online payment system. don't rely on it as your lone source for taking cc's though. this is especially the case for an e-commerce site. i can't tell you how many bitching emails i have seen first hand and heard about ripping the paypal method of cc payment. the problem is that paypal makes each buyer sign up for a paypal account in order to make a simple payment to a merchant. customers don't want another account, they just want to put in their card number and go. if you rely on online sales, make sure you have a real merchant account. paypal is fine for an additional option, there are many people with paypal accounts because it is very big at ebay and other auction sites and also with the college age market. hope this helps.

I have setup a store utilizing paypal. People tend to like it since half the world is visiting ebay they must have paypal accounts. Don't think of it as an extra service, just a way to take payments electronicly.

On my sites I dont say paypal anywhere when they goto order they are taken to a secure form where they enter their data (ya it signs them up for a account - but whats wrong about it they have a way to dispute charges easily) :0)
