Hundreds of keywords

Does it get more visitors?

What do the experienced people think of offering the browser hundreds of keywords and keyword phrases. The idea is to cover all inquiry possibilities. I assume this would be done in Meta tags in the head section?

Is there a downside to the idea?

That would seriously dilute the focus of your page and make it less competitive, not more. It would also slow down the page load time for no useful purpose.

The search engines don't pay nearly as much attention to the keywords metatag as they used to, and some not at all. The approach that makes the most sense these days is a small set of keywords that are tightly focused for the content users would see on that page.
