The issue has come about because I have been doing development work for several companies that has spanned two years or more. Since I contracted with them, I have increased my rates with new contracts, and think it might feel strange to raise my rates on the old ones.
What do others do?
Neither do I, but, I do I have a paragraph in my contract that says I can increase prices at anytime with 30 days notice to the client.
I have exercised this clause many times, and no one has ever complained.
The bottom line is simple, we all start out cheap, if we do a good job we want to charge more, at the same time if we do a good job no one will complain about paying more :)
Hopefully you have the line in your contract that says you can change your contract at anytime with "30 days" notice? If so, change the contract to include the price changes and then implement :)
